This is a beautiful pair of vintage style copper and brass taps, hand made and water pressure tested for leaks. This pair have very small tap heads, ideally suitable for a small basin perhaps in a cloakroom or camper van. (the head on its own is 7.5cm in height and 5cm projection). These taps have an industrial rustic feel with copper pipework and brass tap heads and come supplied with 6 fitting screws and would look fabulous with any smaller basin or sink or alongside the French copper bathroom/kitchen basin sinks on my other listings. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators, so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.
FITTING: These taps are fixed by screws from the top, not from a nut underneath, they may not be suitable for a quartz/granite/marble/slate top; these are suitable for wooden and laminate worktops. These hand made taps have been well made and have a nicely polished finish. If you prefer the more natural patina of copper and brass then these can be achieved by leaving the taps unpolished, over time they will darken to the natural brown copper colour. These are small taps with 15mm standard UK fittings which are suitable for bathroom basins, small kitchen sinks and camper van conversions but may not be suitable for baths due to their small size. In addition, most baths have a different size pipe connection; check with your plumber first if these intended for a bath and check the measurements. DISPATCH TIME can vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly from March-November. See our other listings for a wide range of copper and brass tap styles as well as copper basins and sinks. See our most FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS section below. Total height including tap head (excluding fittings below) 25cm. Total measurement from tap outlet to base of tap fitment 17-18cm.Outlet projection from pipe centre to tap outlet centre 12.5cm. 15mm tail connections, suitable for UK standard kitchen sinks and bathroom basins (check with your plumber if these are for a bath as bath pipe connections vary). Yes you can, please see the my other listing with a title ending (T34). These measurements are not suitable for me, can these taps be made to my own measurements?
Yes, these taps can be made to measure at no extra cost. Please see my other listing with title ending (T39). Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps?
See'sellers other listings' where you will find 4 or 5 different styles as well as a beautiful mixer tap in copper and brass. What size are these taps? These taps have a very small tap head, best suited to a smaller basin or sink, they may be too small for some kitchen sinks, see measurements on the photographs for exact sizes. The tap head is too small for my requirements, do you sell a chunkier tap? Yes we do, these taps are made from a dainty small tap head with 15mm copper pipework, we sell other taps in both 1/2 inch size and a chunkier 3/4 inch size which have thicker 22mm pipe rather than the standard 15mm as well as 2 other slightly larger styles.
What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap? All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected. Can these taps be fitted directly into a basin or sink? No, these taps does not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes.
These are designed to fit onto a countertop. These are fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. These are not fitted using back nuts. Are these taps suitable for a bath? Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Can these taps be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top?No, they cannot be fitted to this type of worktop as they are fitted from above and these type of countertops would not take the 6 small drill holes required. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of counters but this is still in the design stage. Can these be fitted in a camper van?
Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use reducing fittings to join them to the inlet pipes. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant. Can I use these as outdoor taps? Yes, these taps are suitable for outdoor use. How do I connect these to my water inlet under my sink or basin?Your water inlet pipes can be attached to the tail ends by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments. How often will I need to polish my taps to keep them shiny and what should I use?
Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished. A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets. Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster.
If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time. When will my order arrive? All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October. These are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber.
He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting.
