Copper and Brass Kitchen Belfast Sink Taps, Extra Tall Vintage Style Taps (T43)
This is a beautiful pair of copper and brass taps, handmade and water pressure tested. These rustic industrial style taps have 22mm copper pipework and chunky 3/4 inch brass tap heads. They are an extra tall set, see measurements below, and come supplied with 6 fitting screws and would look fabulous with any Belfast sink or alongside the French copper bathroom/kitchen basin sinks on my other listings. These are also suitable for use outside. All the taps we sell are rustic in design and do not have aerators, so the flow of water is a continuous stream similar to that of an outdoor tap.

FITTING: As these taps are fixed by screws from the top, not from a nut underneath, they may not be suitable for a quartz/granite/marble/slate top; these are suitable for wooden and laminate worktops. These taps have been well made and have a nicely polished finish with 15mm standard UK fitment below (22mm above) which are suitable for bathroom basins, kitchen sinks, camper van conversions and outdoor sinks. They may not be suitable for baths which often have a different water inlet pipe.

Please see below for the answers to our most frequently asked questions. This listing is for the measurements below, THESE ARE AN EXTRA TALL SET OF TAPS. For our standard sizes of these taps please see my other listings.

For any different sizes please see the Custom made taps. Total height including tap head (excluding fittings below) minimum 38cm. Clearance height -measurement from tap outlet to base of tap fitment 28cm. Outlet projection from pipe centre to tap outlet centre minimum 17cm. 15mm tail connections suitable for kitchen sinks and bathroom basins (These may not suitable for connection to a bath as the inlet pipe may be too small, check with your plumber first if these are to be fitted to a bath).

Yes you can, please see listing title ending in (T44) in'sellers other listings' - see the right hand side of the screen on any of my items. If these are unsuitable, can I return them?

We would appreciate if you could be as sure as you can be before ordering and would encourage you to ask for advice if you are unsure in order to keep our costs and losses to a minimum. These measurements are not suitable for me, can they be made to my own measurements? Yes, these taps can be made to measure at no extra cost. To order made to measure taps from a drop down menu of available sizes, please see listing ending (T53) - the listing is a single tap, you will need to order quantity as 2. Do you sell any other style of copper and brass taps? See'sellers other listings' where you will find 4 or 5 different styles including single taps, smaller taps and upright pillar taps as well as a beautiful mixer tap also made from copper and brass. What size are these taps? See measurements on the photographs for exact sizes. The tap head is too big for my requirements, do you sell a smaller.

Yes we do, the tap heads of this pair are a chunky 3/4 inch with 22mm copper pipework, we sell the same taps but in a smaller 1/2 inch size which has thinner 15mm pipe. See title ending (T19)'sellers other listings.

What size is the water inlet pipework for this tap? All our taps have the standard 15mm water inlet pipework, this is the pipe below the countertop where the water is connected, called the tail end.

These have exposed 22mm pipework but the water inlet is still standard UK 15mm. Can these taps be fitted directly into a basin or sink?

No, these taps do not fit into basin or sink pre cast holes. These are designed to fit onto a countertop. These are fitted by screwing the brass base into the top of the counter from above using the screws provided. These are not fitted using back nuts.

Are these taps suitable for a bath? Some baths, particularly in older houses have a water inlet pipe of 22mm. Can these taps be fitted to a quartz, slate or marble type counter top? No, they cannot be fitted to this type of worktop as they are fitted from above and these type of countertops would not take the 6 small drill holes required. We are looking to develop a tap for these types of counters but this is still in the design stage.

Can these be fitted in a camper van? Camper van pipework is usually smaller than standard 15mm so you will need to use reducing fittings to join them to the inlet pipes. These are readily available at any plumbers or DIY merchant. Can I use these as outdoor taps?

Yes, these taps are suitable for outdoor use. How do I connect these to my water inlet under my sink or basin?

Your water inlet pipes can be attached to the tail ends by soldering, compression fittings or push fit fitments. How often will I need to polish my taps to keep them shiny and what should I use? Copper and brass are metals that naturally tarnish over time if left unpolished.

A quick buff up every week or 2 will keep it shiny. We use Brasso wadding to keep our taps shiny. This is available at most supermarkets.

Rub some wadding over the taps, let it dry for 15 minutes and buff it off with a yellow duster. If you would prefer the more rustic natural brown patina of copper then leave them unpolished and this colour will develop over time. When will my order arrive? All our taps are made to order with a usual dispatch time of 3-5 days. However, this can occasionally vary as we travel between the UK and France regularly between April-October.

These are made by Martin who is a gas engineer and plumber. He is more than happy to answer questions regarding tap size, style and fitting.
